We defend the hypothesis that philosophical discussions held in a community of children are a locus for collective conceptualization where ideas are jointly built rather than mooted individually and exchanged. Our analysis of a discussion of this kind ("Sharing"), focused on linguistic forms and formulations occurring in successive utterances by different participants, shows that pupils' contributions involve the implementation of a range of operations such as synthesis, elaboration and generalization, based on the contributions of other participants.
